We welcome families to take an important step in their child’s future by applying to New Horizon Pasadena.

The admissions process is designed to allow the school to get to know each applicant and determine if we are a good fit for their educational journey.

The process varies depending on the grade level to which a child is applying.  For everyone, we ask that each family contact the school for a personalized campus tour.  Whether you are certain you want to apply to the school or whether you are in the process of selecting possible schools for your child, please use this form to send us your information or contact the school directly through our Admissions Office at (626) 795-5186 Ext. 1126 or admissions@newhorizonschool.org to arrange for the tour.

We begin accepting applications for our First Admissions Cycle as of December 1.

Guidelines by Grade:

Preschool

Admission to Preschool is on the basis of chronological age and readiness for entry into school. Factors such as the ability to separate, to learn, and to cooperate in group settings are taken into account as well as the child's age as of September 1st of the school year.

The Admissions Committee will make the decision after screening the qualified applicants and reviewing space availability. If all other factors are equal, an applicant with a sibling already enrolled will be considered over other candidates.

Age Criteria
Applicants for Preschool must be 3 years of age by September 1.

Potty Training Criteria
For our Preschool, children must be potty trained. Children who have a regular pattern of needing to be changed 1-2 times or more per day will not be considered potty trained.

International Candidates
International applicants need to apply online and may submit all of the necessary documents as stated in the Admissions Procedures via email or fax. A tentative admissions decision will be made using the information at hand with a final admissions decision upon a school visit.

Admission to Pre-Kindergarten is on the basis of chronological age and readiness for school. Pre-Kindergarten applicants are evaluated for school readiness using the Gesell Developmental Screening. Please note: For enrollment during the school year, the Admissions Office will inform new families of the child's official start date once all paperwork is submitted and processed.
