Achievements 2005-2006
KCET Art Festival - Three of our students
were honored in May for their beautiful art
pieces at the KCET Festival of Student Art recognition
ceremony. The artwork of Tariq Soliman, Elias Shehadeh, and Shareen
Ashby has been framed and
will be displayed at several hospitals starting with
City of Hope.
Student essay chosen
for Pasadena Time Capsule -
In celebration of the
Pasadena Water and Power's 100th anniversary, all fourth graders in the
city were invited to participate in making history by sending a message
to fourth graders in 2106. Ten essays of students
from all over Pasadena, including our own
Ali Kamal, were then selected and then sealed in a 100 year
time capsule at a special
ceremony in Pasadena.
Los Angeles County Science Fair
Winners - Once again New
Horizon Pasadena students demonstrated their scientific prowess in
their achievements at the recent LA County Science Fair. Fifty percent
of our entries achieved finalist status, and of those
finalists, three received honorable mention and three were recognized as follows: Adel Kamal (7th Grade) 1st Place,
Biochemistry/Molecular Biology; Lugene El-Harazi (7th Grade) 2nd Place,
Behavioral Science, Human; Zayd Al-Marayati (6th Grade), 2nd Place, Plant Physiology.
